Willie E. Jones III
Willie E. Jones III trained at the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theatre BFA Actor Training Program. He’s received additional training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. As an actor he has performed on stages such as the Tampa Theatre and Morsani Hall. He has had the pleasure of performing on The Globe stage in London in the title role of Julius Caesar. He has received training around the world with teachers such as Elaine Bromka, Michael Punter, and Hank Stone. Willie has directed plays and projects ranging from Shakespeare, to Chekhov, to new work. He has had multiple plays produced and read across the country in places ranging from high school to prison. Additionally, he was one of the co-creators of the Quarantine Bakeoff Playwriting Competition. A play he wrote received a staged reading produced by the Lorraine Hansberry Theatre. Willie has taught workshops at both the high school and collegiate level. He co-created a summer theater program called the Educational Theatre Program, or ETEP, for short. He was the Artistic Director at Stage Door Theatre, he was the Executive Producer of the “Blackness Is…” Theatre Arts Festival, in collaboration with the Guthrie Theater, and ran CFCArt’s Second Stage Series, among other endeavors. He is currently the founding Actor/Manager of the Jones Classical Theatre Company.
